Dr. Deirdre O’Shea, Associate Professor of Work & Organisational Psychology at the University of Limerick, is an expert on work motivation and occupational health psychology. Her research has been published around the world and was featured in the 2018 RTE documentary ‘Stressed’.
Despite being an $8bn industry, workplace wellness programmes are generally ineffective, Deirdre shares her thoughts as to why.
Deirdre is part of a team of researchers who study the effect micro interventions in nature have on our motivation and wellbeing.
Whilst proactive staff are generally positive team members, Deirdre’s research has shown they can become demotivated too.
