The Organisation:

The Grangegorman Development Agency (GDA) is a statutory agency established in 2006 under the Grangegorman Development Agency Act 2005, responsible for delivering one of Ireland’s most significant urban regeneration programmes. The GDA’s mission is to transform Grangegorman into a vibrant community encompassing a world-class, integrated and inclusive education, health and community campus and urban quarter.

To support this, the GDA is recruiting a Head of Finance.

The Role:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership, oversee the Agency's finance function and ensure strong governance, reporting and compliance. Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will support the delivery of major public infrastructure projects through sound financial planning, analysis and commercial insight.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance function, financial operations and reporting.

  • Prepare management accounts, statutory financial statements, budgets and forecasts.

  • Provide financial analysis and support for major capital projects.

  • Ensure compliance with financial and governance requirements.

  • Manage relationships with auditors, Government Departments and key stakeholders.

  • Oversee treasury, payroll, banking and financial controls.

  • Lead and develop the finance team.


Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA).

  • 10+ years' relevant finance leadership experience.

  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting and planning.

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent analytical, commercial and communication abilities.

Desirable:

  • Senior finance leadership experience.

  • Knowledge of public sector funding, infrastructure projects and governance.

  • Experience with risk management, financial controls and sustainability reporting.
