Head of Governance & Risk
Grangegorman Development Agency has exclusively retained Steering Point to lead the search for a Head of Governance & Risk.
The Organisation:
The Grangegorman Development Agency (GDA) is a statutory agency established in 2006 by the Irish Government under the Grangegorman Development Agency Act 2005 to undertake one of the largest regeneration and urban design projects within the city core for many decades. The GDA’s mission is to transform Grangegorman into a vibrant community that encompasses a world-class, integrated and inclusive education, health, and community campus.
To support this, the GDA is recruiting a Head of Governance & Risk.
The role:
The successful candidate will bring strategic leadership to ensure the effective management and delivery of governance and risk functions, including corporate governance oversight, Board support, and compliance with relevant policies. In providing high quality support and services to the Board and executive of the GDA, the role will be critical in facilitating the smooth delivery of the GDA’ Mission and Vision in line with its stated Values.
Reporting to the CEO/CFO, the Head of Governance & Risk will be a key member of the senior staff.
Qualification & Experience
Essential Requirements
- A third-level qualification (Level 8 / equivalent or higher) in Law, Governance, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field
- At least 5–7 years of experience in a related compliance management, corporate governance etc.
- Strong knowledge of Irish regulatory frameworks applicable to public sector organisations
- Proven experience in supporting Boards or senior committees in an advisory capacity
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in stakeholder management in an urban regeneration context is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams effectively while fostering collaboration
- Familiarity with public sector governance frameworks, compliance best practices, or sustainability strategies is an advantage
- Strong ICT literacy and associated skills incl. cybersecurity, and in particular the use and development of SharePoint and Office 365
