Live Operations Director

Our client, a leading name in the FMCG sector, is seeking a Live Operations Director to drive and execute their live operations strategy. This role is crucial for delivering operational excellence in a fast-paced fresh food environment, utilising best-in-class processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Create, lead, and execute the production strategy with a focus on implementing best-in-class processes and procedures. Collaborate closely with Group Operations to align and enhance strategies across the organisation.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across key functions, including commercial operations, biosecurity, infrastructure, and health & welfare performance. Develop and implement medium and long-term plans to support the company’s growth and sustainability.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders. Lead regular business reviews to ensure transparency and enhance communication. Oversee full P&L responsibilities, including budgeting, reporting, and driving profitability.
  • Leadership & Culture: Cultivate a high-performance, self-directed work ethic among teams through a people-centric leadership style. Inspire change, foster collaboration, and support change management initiatives to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Food Science, or a related field, coupled with at least five years of senior management experience in the FMCG industry or a similar sector. You should have a proven track record of:

  • Strategic Execution: Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic plans that drive operational performance and efficiency.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Strong leadership skills with the ability to cultivate a high-performance culture and inspire teams to achieve their best. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving change is essential.
  • Analytical & Negotiation Skills: Excellent analytical skills to handle complex, strategically significant issues. Strong negotiation abilities to manage relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders effectively.
  • Forward-Thinking: A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation, maintaining a forward-looking perspective to drive sustainable growth.
